Miluska Buendia Munoz

Miluska Buendía Muñoz is a Peruvian attorney of Quechua origin and a human rights advocate dedicated to advancing Indigenous rights and environmental justice across the Andes and Amazon. She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the Universidade Federal da Integração Latino-Americana (UNILA), where her research examined Indigenous autonomy and the Wampis Nation’s defense of its territory against illegal balsa logging and informal timber extraction in the Peruvian Amazon.

Miluska has worked with nongovernmental organizations dedicated to defending the rights of Indigenous Peoples and has also served within the Peruvian government, where she supported the protection and promotion of the rights of human rights defenders. Her work brings together legal advocacy, community engagement, and interdisciplinary research to strengthen Indigenous self-determination and territorial defense.

Miluska works alongside Indigenous communities and partner organizations throughout Peru, supporting legal advocacy and regional initiatives to protect land, water, and the rights of Indigenous Peoples in the Andes-Amazon region.
